Claudere Vascular is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We are focused on the development and market introduction of a new “natural” Vascular Closure Device (VCD) that uses the patient’s own deheparinized blood to seal a vascular wound. These wounds result from a variety of cardiology and interventional medical procedures that require entry via a patient’s femoral artery.
Our Claudere HD Platform was conceived to address a a significant tradeoff in the closure market. The traditional manual compression technique is perceived to be safe, clinically effective and low cost. However, manual compression results in an inefficient workflow for providers and is unnecessarily and significantly uncomfortable for patients.
Other VCD address reduce the time and discomfort elements of manual compression, but are perceived to be expensive and they leave behind foreign materials (clips, sutures, plugs or sealants). That can impede reentry into the artery in an emergency or can lead to complications like embolization or infection.
The Claudere Platform is designed to be better for patients and providers alike. The platform will be faster and less uncomfortable for patients than manual compression. It will be easy to learn and use and will have comparable time to ambulation of other VCD but without leaving anything behind, and at a significantly reduced cost to the healthcare system. A better solution for all..
